Rally Awards
In 2005, the University of Vermont Athletic Department established the Rally Awards, an all-sports celebration highlighting the accomplishments of the student-athletes at UVM. The inaugural Rally Awards took place at the historical Flynn Theatre in downtown Burlington and over 800 people attended the event.
At the Rally Awards, each team's MVP is honored and six major awards are handed out to Vermont student-athletes. They include: Jeff Stone Memorial Award - recognizing exceptional contributions in community service; Underclass Athletic Achievement Award - recognizing outstanding athletic accomplishments by underclass student-athletes; Semans Trophy - presented to the seniors who have excelled in the athletic arena and demonstrated exceptional leadership; Russell O. Sunderland Memorial Trophy - presented to the seniors who have persevered over obstacles in their career; Wasson Athletic Prize - presented to the senior scholar-athletes at UVM; J. Edward Donnelly Award - presented to Vermont's top senior student-athletes. The athletic department also presents an annual award to individuals in the community for their loyal support and devotion to the University of Vermont Athletic Program.
