Vermont Athletic Success
In 2009-10 season was a historic one for the Vermont athletic program. The men's basketball, women's basketball and men's hockey teams all advanced to the NCAA Tournament in the same year for the first time in school history. Franz Bernstein also became the first Nordic skier since 1998 to win an NCAA Individual National Championship in the freestyle.
Vermont has won six national championships, all in skiing, in the department's history.
