MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Seniors
Rogan Brown and
Kristina Riis-Johannessen each won their race, the men's 10K freestyle and women's giant slalom, respectively, to lead the Vermont Catamounts to a 143-point win over Dartmouth at the Middlebury Carnival. The victory was Vermont's 20th straight win on the EISA Circuit.
Dartmouth posted 788 points over the two days and was followed in third by Middlebury at 783 points.

Women's 5K Freestyle (.pdf)After the alpine teams swept first in the slalom team standings yesterday, the Nordic team took first in the freestyle races to help propel UVM to the victory.
At the Rickert Nordic Center, Brown won his second straight freestyle race. The Catamounts took two-thirds of the podium, as Brown finished the course with a winning time of 25:09.5, beating out Dartmouth's Patrick Caldwell by 10 seconds.
Jorgen Grav, who won the classic race on Saturday earned his second podium appearance of the weekend with a third place finish and time of 25:20.8.
Jack Hegman rounded out the top three racers for Vermont, placing fifth overall.
In the women's freestyle race, Annika Taylor of New Hampshire finished first with a time of 16:08.6. Heather Mooney of Middlebury placed second on her home course and Corey Stock of Dartmouth rounded out the podium.
The Catamounts top three skiers finished 5-6-7, led by
MK Cirelli's time of 16:23.0.
Stephanie Kirk followed in sixth and
Marion Woods was seventh overall.
At the Middlebury Snow Bowl, Riis-Johannessen earned her 10th career EISA victory and fourth of the season in the women's giant slalom. She posted the fastest time of the day (1:04.93) in her first run down the hill and finished with a two-run total of 2:10.97.
Foreste Peterson of Dartmouth was second and Katelyn Barclay of Middlebury was third. The Panthers went 3-4-5 in the race.
Elli Terwiel added a 10th place finish for Vermont and
Brittany Lathrop was 13th to round out UVM's top three skiers.
In the men's GS race, William St. Germain and
Dom Garand finished 2-4 to lead the Catamounts.
New Hampshire's Coley Oliver posted a winning time of 2:08.61. St. Germain followed in second place (2:09.03) and Robert Cone edged out Garand to take the third spot on the podium.
Cone posted a time of 2:09.60, while Garand clocked in at 2:09.68.
Griffin Brown rounded out UVM's top three skiers with an eighth place finish.
The EISA Circuit takes a weekend off, racing returns on February 27-28 with the St. Lawrence Carnival/EISA Championships in Lake Placid.
