2014 TOURNAMENT RECAPThe Catamounts are the defending champions, having won the tournament in 2014 with a 2-0 mark with wins over Central Connecticut and Youngstown State.

Nikki McFarland and
Sarah Martin earned a spot on the all-tournament team for Vermont, while Brooke Murray and Caroline Murray represented New Hampshire. Greer was named the tournament MVP.

ABOUT VERMONTThe Catamounts stand at 1-1 on the year after a trip to the New York City area to open the season. UVM dropped a 1-0 decision at Manhattan in the season opener but bounced back with a 1-0 win at Iona to wrap up the weekend.
Nikki McFarland's goal in the fourth minute held up as the Catamounts earned their first road win shutout under head coach
Kristi Lefebvre. Vermont is 7-1-1 in games when McFarland scores a goal. UVM has won the TD Bank Classic three times (2014, 2009, 2003).

ABOUT NEW HAMPSHIREThe Wildcats are making their 12th appearance at the TD Bank Classic and have won the tournament twice times (2010, 2001). New Hampshire is 1-1-2 this season. UNH opened the year with back-to-back double-overtime draws against Rhode Island (0-0) and UMass (0-0). UNH posted a 2-0 win over Holy Cross and fell 2-0 at Siena in a pair of games last weekend. Sophomore forward Brooke Murphy was named the America East Player of the Week. An all-rookie selection last year and the team's leading scorer in 2014 (11 gls), she scored two goals in the victory over Holy Cross and leads the team in scoring this year. Mimi Borkan has played every minute in net for UNH and owns a 0.45 goals against average.

ABOUT KENT STATEThe Golden Flashes are making their first appearance in the TD Bank Classic and stand at 1-1-1 on the season. Kent State dropped a 1-0 decision at Maryland in the season opener, rebounded with a 6-0 victory over Bryant University and played to a 2-2 tie against Louisville on August 28. Jenna Hellstrom leads the team in scoring with nine points, collecting three goals and three assists so far this season. Teammate Kristen Brots has also scored twice for the Golden Flashes. Ashleah McDonald and Katie Kingsbury have split time in net for Kent State. Friday's matchup against the Catamounts will mark the first time the two teams have faced each other.

ABOUT QUINNIPIACThe Bobcats are making their first appearance in the TD Bank Classic. Quinnipiac is 2-0 on the season and has out scored opponents 4-1 in two games. QU beat Holy Cross, 2-1 and Delaware State, 2-0. Freshman Nadya Gill leads the team in soring with a pair of goals and Natalia Grodzki has played every minute in goal and collected eight saves. Gill was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Quinnipiac owns a 3-1-0 advantage in the all-time series. Sunday will mark the fourth straight year the two teams have met. Vermont posted a 1-0 win at Quinnipiac last season, while the Bobcats won 1-0 in Burlington in 2013.

WHO'S NEXTThe Catamounts travel to Siena and Dartmouth next week for a pair of non-conference games. Kickoff at Siena on September 9 is scheduled for 4 p.m., while the Dartmouth match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in Hanover, New Hampshire on September 13.
